This arrived this morning

I am now the very proud owner of a Leica M-A, it is a film camera and it is sooooooooo nice.

One of the beautiful things about the camera is that it does not have any batteries in it at all, no lightmeter so I will be using the Sunny 16 rule and or a external lightmeter which is how I used to work so it feels like a return to my old self. I think it was partly the appeal for this camera and the other appeal for me is that it is film and not digital, with all the talk of Ai imaging these days there is a positive thing to be said for using film as it is what you the photographer saw though the lean son the camera and only filtered by the kinda film you have loaded into the camera and how you choose to process the film. Now I have to decide on which film I want to use as I discovered tat my favourite film has got rather expensive since I last used film in a camera. It will be 20 years since I seriously used film so for me this is a big step to be taking.

I am guessing that I will predominately use Black and White film as I can process that myself and then I will see what I do for the next steps to proof and print it. I am then thinking that my Leica M11 will be used for colour instead of me converting the images to Black and White like I have been doing recently.

Gotta go and put the film in the camera now and go and take it out for its first roll of film bye for now.

Michael
