Zeiss Loxia 35mm FE Mount Lens

Zeiss Loxia 35mm f2 manual focus lens FE Mount Lens.

This lens you can count me in on as it will just be what I need for a particular type of work. I might not even need the 50mm only this lens and the rest of my lens can be the regular Sony mix of Zeiss and G FE mount lens. Why would I want this lens? In truth it is because Sony when they designed the FE mount lenses did away with a couple of things that I have found most useful. One of them being the distance scale so that I could preset my distance to subject and the other hypothetical scale distance lens. This lens brings both of those items back to the lens with a need to be for the type of street or documentary photography that I do. To get around this I have been using a Leica 40mm Summicron lens which while being sharp does not allow me to use focusing magnification which I have come to quite like. Where as this lens in the specifications says that the focus magnification will also work this is very helpful.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the price of this lens will be as it is on my list of things that I would find most useful when using the Sony a7 series of cameras.
